Rafael Fingerlos

Rafael Fingerlos is considered one of the most exciting singers of his generation and can already look back on a remarkable international career. At home on the opera stage as well as in song and concert, he has appeared many times on important international stages such as the Vienna State Opera (at the Haus am Ring he has sung Figaro (Barbiere), Belacore, Dr. Falke, Papageno, Demetrius and Harlequin, among others), at the Teatro alla Scala and at the Teatro alla Scala. Falcon, Papageno, Demetrius or Harlequin), at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan (Harlequin), at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires (Danilo), at the Semperoper Dresden (as Figaro, Papageno or Harlequin) at the Teatro Real in Madrid (as Haudy/The Soldiers) or the Opera Vlaanderen (as Dr. Faust in Schumann's Faust Scenes). Opera engagements have also taken him to the Bunka Kaikan in Tokyo, the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie, the Aix-en-Provence Festival and the Bregenz and Salzburg Festivals.

Among the current highlights of the orchestra's rich concert and song repertoire are regular appearances at the Vienna Konzerthaus and Musikverein, the Mozartwoche, the Grosses Festspielhaus Salzburg, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Grafenegg, the Lucerne Festival, the Hong Kong Arts Festival, the Tivoli Utrecht, at the Elisabethzaal in Antwerp, the Berlioz Festival, the ORF Vienna Symphony Orchestra's Prater Concert, the Bremen Music Festival, the Meistersingerhalle in Nuremberg, the Musica-em-Trancoso Festival in Bahia, the opera houses in Nice, Zagreb, Rosario and the Teatro Colòn, the BR Classic Studio Concerts, the Tonhalle Düsseldorf and the Auditorium Lyon.

Song recitals with his regular song partner Sascha El Mouissi play a central role in the Austrian baritone's artistic work.

He recently received a very special honor in October 2023: he was the first Austrian singer in 70 years to perform a sold-out solo recital on the legendary stage of the Teatro Colòn in Buenos Aires.

Since 2017, he has released a total of seven critically acclaimed solo CDs (see also: Discography) The most recent album "Mozart made in Salzburg" (Mozarteumorchester Salzburg, Leopold Hager) is entirely dedicated to arias by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Rafael Fingerlos is - in addition to numerous radio broadcasts and radio recordings - also known to a wide classical audience through numerous appearances and programs, mainly on Austrian and German television. (e.g. New Year's Concert Intermission Film 2019, Prater Concert of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra 2023, Franz Schubert and Folk Music, Docu: My Mozart, My Salzburg, Johannes Brahms and Folk Music and the ORF III Christmas Concerts).

NEWS:

 The first highlights in 2024 took Rafael to the Mozartwoche 2024 and the large Festspielhaus in Salzburg, among others. On the opera stage, there was a reunion with Christian Thielemann and "Die Frau ohne Schatten" at the Semperoper Dresden and a very successful debut at the British Garsington Opera Festival in Mozart's "Le Nozze di Figaro" (Conte Almaviva). The autumn season will be dominated by recitals and concerts: recitals will take place at the Musikverein Vienna, at the Lower Austrian Serenade Concerts, in Rome (with live broadcast by RAI) and at the Boulezsaal Berlin, while orchestral concerts will take Rafael to Hamburg, Krakow and the Vienna Konzerthaus. In 2024, Rafael Fingerlos will once again provide the music for the ORF Christmas Day Concert. Finally, as Dr. Falke in Die Fledermaus, he will once again bring the old year to a musical close at the Semperoper Dresden and dance into 2025 in song.
