Also in 2023, as part of the festival's youth training, a master class in singing will take place on October 11 and 12, 2023 at the BORG Mittersill - Hall for All (Felberstraße 3) led by lecturer KS Michael Schade. The scholarship holders are all already experienced concert professionals and will receive practical tips and fine-tuning from one of the world's leading tenors.
The master class on October 11 and 12 from 10:00 - 13:00 and 14:30 - 17:30 is open to the public. Guests are always welcome!

Laura Thaller, soprano
The Austrian soprano Laura Thaller was born in Salzburg. She began her musical training at the age of eight with children's choirs and musical development programs. She also won a first prize at the Austrian Jewish music competition "Prima La Musica". During her school years, she learned guitar and piano and took part in several musicals as a leading actress. From the age of thirteen, she took singing lessons with Helmut Zeilner at the Salzburg Musikum.
After graduating from high school, Laura Thaller went abroad and studied singing, dancing and acting for a year in America at Principia College in St. Louis. She then continued her vocal training at the Mozarteum University, where she studied singing. She received further inspiration from Prof. Barbara Bonney during her first years of study. In June 2023, she completed her bachelor's degree in concert singing with distinction under Prof. Juliane Banse. Parallel to her vocal studies, Laura Thaller completed a Bachelor's degree in Music and Dance Studies at the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg under Prof. Andrea Lindmayer-Brandl and Prof. Nils Grosch, where she focused her research on singing and dance as well as Schubert research.
Through her choral activities in the Salzburg Bach Choir, she has performed in several productions at the Salzburg Festival, the Mozartwoche Salzburg and the Salzburg Easter Festival. Since October 2023, Laura Thaller has been studying for a Master's degree in singing with Prof. Juliane Banse and Prof. Stephan Genz at the Mozarteum University Salzburg.
Laura Thaller is a prizewinner of the 16th International Duschek Competition Youth in Singing of the Mozart Community in the Czech Republic. She also won the Mozart Prize of Argo International Artists Management at the 13th Grandi Voci Competition. In the course of her training she attended master classes with Vesselina Kasarova, KS Mag. Daniela Fally, Anne Le Bozec and Prof. Fenna Kügel-Seifried. Laura Thaller performs regularly as part of her studies and outside the university. In November 2023 she will make her debut at the chamber music festival "HerbstTöne" with Stephan Genz and Pauliina Tukiainen with works by Johannes Brahms and Robert Schumann.

Milena Pumberger, mezzo-soprano
The mezzo-soprano was born in Prague, Czech Republic, and grew up there, in Austria and Italy. She began playing the violin at the age of five and later attended the Musikgymnasium Wien for music students and the Liceo Musicale in Florence, Italy. She also took part twice in the youth project "Jugend an der Wien" at the Theater an der Wien, was a member of the youth and children's choir of the Vienna State Opera for two years and a member of the youth theater "Junge Burg", Burgtheater.
After graduating from high school, Milena Pumberger went to Zurich, Switzerland, to study Eastern European Studies. After winning the Swiss Youth Competition at cantonal level (Zurich) in the singing category, she began her vocal studies in 2018 at the Zurich University of the Arts and continued them in 2020 at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz, Austria. Since September 2022, Milena Pumberger has been studying for a Master's degree with KS Prof. Daniela Fally and KS Prof. Angelika Kirchschlager at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
In May 2022, Milena Pumberger won the special prize of the Erzgebirgische Theater- und Orchester GmbH at the Austrian Operetta Competition 2022. In addition, the mezzo-soprano Bayreuth was a 2022 scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Association Linz.
In March 2022, the mezzo-soprano made her debut as Oreste in G. F. Handel's "Oreste" as part of the Kammerspiele at the Landestheater Linz. In summer 2022, she played the role of Sylvaine in F. Lehar's "The Merry Widow" at the Bad Hall Operetta Festival. In spring 2023 she made her debut as Madame Doro in F. Loesser's "Andersen- Ein märchenhaftes Leben" at the Eduard von Winterstein Theater in Annaberg- Buchholz, Germany, as Carmen in Bizet's "Carmen" at the MDW in Vienna and was engaged as Lehrbub in R. Wagner's "Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg" at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
In the coming season, Milena Pumberger will perform in Marius Binder's world premiere "In der Gondel" at the Landestheater Tirol and Stadttheater Bozen and as Hansel in E. Humperdinck's "Hansel and Gretel" at the Schönbrunn Palace Theater.

Maximilian. L. A. Müller, Tenor
The young German tenor was born in 1999 and gained musical experience as a member and soloist of the Leipzig St. Thomas Boys Choir in various international concert halls from an early age.
In 2022, he completed his Bachelor's degree in singing with Prof. Peter Edelmann.
Immediately afterwards, he began his master's degree, also with Prof. Peter Edelmann and in his Lied specialization with Prof. Anton Scharinger.
Classical song plays a central role in his studies and he has already taken part in several recitals and concerts both inside and outside the university.

Alexander Aigner, baritone
The Regensburg-born baritone Alexander Aigner studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Bernhard Adler and Florian Boesch and graduated with a Master of Arts. He received further inspiration from KS Wicus Slabbert, KS Robert Holl and KS Gabriele Fontana.
As part of his studies, he appeared as Dandini in Rossini's La Cenerentola, as Pimpinone in Telemann's chamber opera of the same name, as Papageno in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte and as l'horloge and le chat in Ravel's L'enfant et les sortilèges at the Schlosstheater Schönbrunn .
Following his studies, he made his debut at the Neue Oper Wien in Britten's Death in Venice (conducted by Walter Kobéra) as the English Clerk (2021). He made his debut at the Theater an der Wien in 2021 in the production Figaro und die Detektiv*innen (conducted by Hannah Eisendle) as Figaro. This was followed in 2022 by engagements in the Chamber Opera of the Theater an der Wien as Fiorello in Rossini's Il barbiere di Siviglia (conductor: George Jackson) and as Leporello in Mozart's Don Giovanni (conductor: Christoph Huber). In November 2022, he was heard again at the Theater an der Wien as Ernesto in Rossini's La gazza ladra under the musical direction of Antonino Fogliani.
Performances as a lieder and concert singer have already taken him to Russia and Japan. In 2022, he was heard in Vienna as Simon in Haydn's The Seasons . In spring 2023, he made his debut in the Great Hall of the Wiener Konzerthaus as Judas in Bach's St. Matthew Passion with the Vienna Philharmonic under the direction of Franz Welser-Möst.
